About Us
Founded in 2005 ‘The Luol Deng Foundation’, a family run non for profit organisation was created under the philosophy that: Health and education are basic human rights and are key to developing strong communities, prosperous living and independent lives throughout the world. The Deng family, in particular Luol Deng, through LDF have an overall mission to give back to the communities that have provided them with the paths they have followed as individuals and that have led them to triumph. LDF intends to succeed in offering support not only to individuals but also to their development in areas where which lack infrastructure and basic needs, and to inevitably allow them to become educated enough to develop prolifically and without aid.LDF Vision
Good health… prosperity… quality of life…
The Luol Deng Foundation stands for
evolution out of an ever revolving and critical state of poverty.

Our Attitude
The foundation is passionate about change in every sense of the word, if a change is going to better the lives of people in a war ridden Sudan, which has battled its way through the longest civil war known to history, then we want to help this change take place. Our focus, however, is not on offering material goods and funds that will last for weeks, maybe months but to offer a life time of opportunity that will have the potential to break the diminishing system that has led to a struggling community. Our understanding is that the components needed to fuel successful and everlasting change lie in EDUCATION. Teachers open the door, but you must enter by yourself." -- Chinese Proverb Providing teachers will create choice for the Sudanese minorities to learn– minorities who are rarely given any form of choice. If these individuals can be offered the choice to learn the skills and expertise to be socially and economically competent, then they can hold the key to the door out of poverty.
